Summary

Individuals dispose of him as a pointless appendage and decline to acknowledge him in the standard of life. So he feels distanced from the general public and needs to live in disengagement. In a way, Derry experiences the feeling of inadequacy. Mr Sheep propels him to contemplate life, individuals and things. It is a fine day and Mr Sheep is in his garden. He is an elderly person with a tin leg. He has a desolate existence and is constantly prepared to acknowledge any guest who comes in his garden. One day Derry, a young man of fourteen sneaks into Mr Sheep's garden.
